30% of the CO2 emissions come from the built environment. To reduce this percentage, the government is encouraging the use of renewable energy sources.

How does the ISDE work?

Subsidies have been made available for the use of sustainable alternatives to gas and electricity in existing utility buildings and homes. The subsidy is focused on four categories, with certain requirements that must be met. We can thoroughly assess your intended investments in advance to ensure they meet the program's conditions. The most common technology is the heat pump for sustainable heating and cooling. Depending on the type of heat pump, the energy label, and the capacity, the subsidy ranges from €500 to €13,200 per device. This amount allows for a quick return on investment in a building.   The ISDE is divided into four categories for business users:
  • Heat Pumps (only for existing buildings)
  • Solar Water Heaters (only for existing buildings)
  • PV Installations (up to 100 kWp connection)
  • Wind Turbines (small consumer connection)
It operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The available subsidy for 2023 is €350 million. The subsidy must be applied for before the purchase obligation or construction agreement is entered into. The installation must be put into use within 12 months of receiving the subsidy decision. Applications are processed in the order they are received, so it is advisable not to wait too long to apply.
