The scheme focuses on maintaining or restoring national monuments with a residential function. Eligible works for subsidy include, among others:
General exterior painting
Repair of window frames
Roof repairs
Maintenance and repair of gutters and rainwater drainage

Subsidies are applied for after the maintenance year using invoices that describe the work performed. If the application costs exceed €70,000, an inspection report must be prepared in advance.

The benefits and subsidy amount
The subsidy amounts to 38% of the eligible costs incurred in the previous year.

To be eligible for the residential monument scheme, the application must meet the following requirements:
