Project STEK in Rosmalen

In the sustainable neighborhood of Rosmalen, where the emphasis is on connecting with your neighbors, phase two of the STEK project is nearing completion. Luck Dankers, responsible from the STEK project side, has collaborated with housing foundation JOOST and housing corporation Zayaz to provide sustainable and relocatable homes. Besides sustainability, community spirit is central here, as the saying goes: a good neighbor is better than a distant friend.

Green Living

The (future) residents of this new neighborhood have a love for green living and prefer somewhat smaller homes. Here, they share the land with their neighbors instead of having private front gardens. This shared residential courtyard is jointly designed and maintained. The idea is also that people look out for one another more. The first phase of the project was put into use in April of last year.

Subsidies for Sustainability

Van Draeckeburgh has successfully applied for and obtained MIA subsidies for the second phase of the project. It is also intended to apply for MIA again for the third phase. The Environmental Investment Allowance for circular buildings is designed to accelerate the transition to a circular construction economy. Within this project, the focus is on the use of renewable materials and the possibility of disassembly.

Barli BV builds using a modular timber construction method. During the design phase, consideration is already given to disassembly and reuse, resulting in relocatable, circular housing with maximum reuse.

Project manager at Van Draeckeburgh, Claudia van Wier, says:

Quick coordination, direct communication, and a great result! Not only the content of the project but also the pleasant collaboration with all involved makes me look forward to the next phase.

With this project, housing foundation JOOST and housing corporation Zayaz strive for a sustainable and close-knit future in Rosmalen, where neighbors truly support each other and form a community together.
